Treatments
Our philosophy is that the body is an interconnected system where symptoms are often windows into deeper imbalances.
We believe in going beyond symptoms to understand the root cause and tailoring our treatment plans to address the underlying root cause. Once the root cause is addressed and the body is supported, we often see the body start to bring itself back to balance and heal.
Dr. Ghormley has a vast depth of medical experience allowing her to pull first-hand experience from many modalities and select those that best suit the patients needs.
Below are a few of the conditions we treat and the modalities we find most effective:
Infants
Neurological development; primitive reflex, vagal tone, oral restrictions (lip and tongue tie)
GI dysfunction (infant reflux, constipation)
Specialized in:
Primitive Reflex Evaluation and Integration
Pediatric Sacral Occipital Technique (PSOT)
CO2 laser for frenectomies- Baby Got Bite program (learn more)
Craniosacral therapy (CST)
Children
Ages 2 – 18 years old
Neurological development and dysfunctions (i.e. – ADHD, PANDAS, sensory processing, on the spectrum)
Airway and maxillofacial development due to fascia and oral restrictions along with GI dysfunction (Constipation or irregular bowels)
Specialized in:
Primitive Reflex Evaluation and Integration
Pediatric Sacral Occipital Technique (PSOT)
CO2 laser for frenectomies (learn more)
Craniosacral therapy (CST)
Visceral Manipulation
Physiotherapy
Sensory Motor Room
Naturopathic Manipulative Technique (NMT)
Adults
Ages 18 and on
Neurological dysfunctions – airway, behavioral relating to anxiety and depression; Oral restrictions impacting sleep.
ENT dysfunction – relating to ringing in the ears (tinnitus), balance issues (dizziness; vertigo) sinus congestion and headaches
GI dysfunction- Constipation, diarrhea, pH balance
Pelvic floor dysfunctions –
Women: urinary incontinence; prolapse and chronic infections such as bacterial and yeast infections
Men: erectile dysfunction
Specialized in:
Primitive Reflex Evaluation and Integration
Naturopathic Manipulative Technique (NMT)
Ballooning nasal technique
Sacral Occipital Technique (SOT)
Biocranium
CO2 laser for frenectomies (learn more)
Craniosacral therapy (CST)
Visceral Manipulation
Physiotherapy
Sacral occipital technique (SOT)
SOT seeks to correct abnormalities in the spine that produce back, upper and lower extremities (arms and legs) pain, headaches, and dizziness. Patients suffering from migraines, neck, upper back, and shoulder pain, fatigue and nervous disorders can benefit immediately from Sacral occipital technique.
Naturopathic manipulative technique (NMT)
Naturopathic adjustments involving manual manipulation of the spine and joints to improve mobility and reduce pain.
Visceral manipulation
Used in conjunction with gastrointestinal and pelvic floor rehabilitation – Visceral Manipulation is a gentle manual technique involving specific placement of soft manual forces to encourage the normal mobility, tone and motion of the viscera (internal organs) and the connective tissue and ligaments that support each organ onto our skeleton.
Nasal Specific Technique (NST)
NST aims to gain a controlled release of the connective tissue tensions using a combination of physical manipulation and intracranial hydraulic pressure. Some of the pathologies that are helped by this treatment include the following: Reduction in sinus congestion, enhanced mental function and clarity, reduced jaw pain, reduced neck and back pain and abnormal spinal curvature to name a few pathologies that can be supported by this modality.
Myofunctional therapy
Myofunctional therapy is an exercise training program for the muscles around the face, mouth, and tongue. It is designed to help jaw, facial strengthening along w/airway, headache, and sleep support. This is used in conjunction w/vagus nerve evaluation and rehabilitation.
Craniosacral therapy (CST)
We use this modality on most of our patients to help them with recovery. This modality is recognized as a physiological relationship to several systems but specifically to the central nervous system, autonomic system, neuro-musculoskeletal system, and endocrine system. This is one of the most gentle treatments and is highly recommended for use on infants and older adults where more aggressive treatments would be contraindicated.
Vagus nerve evaluation and rehabilitation
The vagus nerve is one of the most important cranial nerves that represents the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system (calming; relaxation), which oversees a vast array of crucial bodily functions, including control of mood, immune response, digestion, and heart rate. A technique in maxillofacial therapy is utilized to work with the face especially the eyes, ears, nose (sinus cavity) and mouth. Gentle treatment is used to ameliorate major trauma and structural anomalies of the face that directly impacts the vagal nerve function.
Pelvic floor
Designed to achieve internal and external muscle balance and stability throughout the pelvic region. Pelvic Floor Therapy is helpful for men, women, and non-binary individuals. Common treatable conditions include erectile dysfunction, postpartum care, painful intercourse, low back pain, urinary incontinence, hemorrhoids, vaginal prolapse, vaginismus, interstitial cystitis, rectocele/cystocele, post-surgical rehabilitation, injuries/ structural abnormalities, and many more.
